I have been a practicing Social Worker for nearly 30 years in the DFW area. In addition to my practice experience, my 15+ year experience as a faculty member at a local university allows me to empathize and support young adults who may be transitioning from college to work. I also have extensive experience working with families of all ages who have difficulties with stress and communication. I specialize in working with individuals and families to heal and join together to become healthy, whole members of their homes and communities. I believe I encourage others to successfully navigate what can often be a difficult life path. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, & talk therapy. I use solution focused methods and educate clients on how to use that will help develop long term success. I believe the relationship between therapist and client is a working team that begins with assessing the situation, setting goals, and developing a plan. I can help any person who has difficulty with relationships at home or work. I am available for individuals who feel emotionally overwhelmed and misdirected. My passion is helping others help themselves. I look forward to working together to help you navigate life. Once you have selected to work with me, I will contact you within 24 hours to get started. I will likely contact you sooner than that. However, if it is an emergency, please follow the guidelines indicated for clients of BetterHelp. Call 911 if you believe you are in a crisis situation. Again, I look forward to working with you.

LaShaunn has been a comforting presence in our sessions. It's so nice to talk with her, and she's not afraid to say something even if she think it might upset me if she believes it's important to hear. She is kind and open and good at adapting the session based on the needs of the time. She gives me worksheets if I want them but doesn't pressure me if I don't complete them, and she encourages me to get out and try new things, as well as reminding me of the progress I'm making and the strengths I have. I've really enjoyed working with her.

LaShaunn is a great therapist. She is friendly and cordial but not afraid to challenge you. She helps me break away from “stuck” cycles of thinking. I like the homework she provides as well. I would recommend her to anyone, especially if you are Bipolar like me.
