Kathryn "Katie" Perez, LMFT
About me
I graduated from Pepperdine University back in 2012 and have gathered 13 years of experience as a therapist treating all kinds of people from different walks of life, for different concerns. I worked in a middle school for awhile, a community counseling center, and I've also worked with war veterans, to name a few. I like connecting with people and learning about who they are, helping them open up, and creating a safe space where people can grow in any way that they choose.
My goal is to, at the very least, help you to feel like you're not alone.
Usually I start out with an initial consultation, during which I ask questions about you and your background so I can get to know you a bit better. This is also a time for us both to figure out if we are a good fit for each other. (I need to make sure that I have the skills to help you with your problem, and you need to figure out if I'm someone you feel you can connect with.) If we decide that we are a good fit, then we schedule a weekly time to meet up and talk.
We will talk about whatever you want to talk about in our sessions. I believe that whatever needs to be discussed, will be brought up without us having to force it. I have found that this kind of exploration leads clients to develop a greater understanding of themselves, and how they might move forward in life in a way that feels right and true.
If this sounds like a process you'd be interested in, please reach out! I would love to hear from you.
