Frequently asked questions
We require every Therapist providing Therapist Services on the Platform to be trained and experienced licensed U.S. Psychologist (PhD / PsyD), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or similar applicable recognized professional license based on their state and/or jurisdiction. Therapists must have a relevant academic degree in their field, at least 3 years of experience, at least 1,000 hours of hands-on experience, and have to be qualified and licensed by their respective state board after successfully completing the necessary education, exams, training and practice requirements as applicable. With BetterHelp membership gifts, you will be purchasing a BetterHelp subscription for your loved one that renews every 4 weeks. The subscription starts when your loved one begins therapy. You can choose to stop covering for the therapy costs at any time. If you stop, your loved one can continue out of pocket without any interruption. We will also stop renewing the subscription if your loved one decides to stop their BetterHelp service.
The cost of therapy through BetterHelp ranges from $60 to $90 per week (billed every 4 weeks). You can cancel your membership at any time, for any reason.
The membership renews every 4 weeks. If you choose to stop paying for your recipient's therapy, they will have the option to continue paying for their own membership without interruption. We will also stop renewing the subscription if your loved one decides to stop their BetterHelp service.
With your gift email, we will send the recipient a link to our questionnaire to understand their needs and preferences. Based on their answers, we will match them to the therapist that's best for them. If they are not satisfied with the therapist that they are matched to, they can switch therapists with the click of a button.
