It isn’t always easy to reach out for help and I applaud your efforts in doing so. Most of us are good at surviving but there is a big difference between surviving and thriving. We often encounter blocks in our life, sometimes it may be fear or perhaps mistrust because of the hurt we have experienced in the past.
Talking with a counselor that we have developed a trusting relationship with can help us see those blocks more easily and then begin the process of change. Counseling may seem difficult at first but once we begin to find possible solutions and put them into practice, it actually becomes rewarding and hopeful again. This perceptual shift alone can help us to feel better. Life is meant to be enjoyed and not endured.
