I am a mental health counselor originally from Nebraska and now living in Arizona. I have 20+ years of experience. I work with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, low self esteem, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, and low motivation. I have also helped people with addiction problems. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic and rational-emotive counseling. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Also, be aware if you have become addicted to negative thoughts, it will take courage and hard work to challenge and overcome them.
It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you. I look forward to working with you!
About me: My Loves are my wife, my son and daughter, 3 grandchildren, and our dog Sky. Favorite activities include golf, biking, hiking, sharing stories, and spending time with friends and family. I've made my fair share of mistakes, and done some things I'm not proud of. My life experiences have fueled my belief in second chances, and helped me to be non-judgmental and empathetic as a person and therapist. I would welcome the opportunity to partner with you in your journey.

I've only had two sessions with Michael, but he's already identified a few things that I hadn't been able to. It's what I was hoping for since I think objectivity and perspective is are hard things to achieve when you're buried in your own trauma and turmoil. I'm grateful to be working with him.

Mike is really great! From the get go, I could tell that he very seriously tried to get to know me. He immediately started picking up on my habits and, if any needed work, he worked with me on options for correction. In our eight sessions, I have learned so many things that I will take with me for the remainder of my life. He was someone I felt very comfortable with (which is hard for me) and I am so thankful for that. I highly recommend Mike and hope you get to work with him as closely as I did!

Michael is a kind and professional person. He gets me out of my head and into my body where I hold my feelings hostage. I really like his smar and non-judgmental style!

Mike is the second counselor I have worked with from this platform. I connected with him much better than my first counselor, He is very good at getting to the heart of the matter, as well with offering advice on how to improve my own life outside of therapy. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a Christian centered wy of approaching the difficulties life throws your way.

Michael has been helping me talk through things that have been hard for me to let out. He listens and asks good questions as well as provides knowledge on how certain mental sicknesses work. He has been slowly helping me figure out the causes of my emotional problems and also helping me see a more clear path as to how to feel better.

Michael Arnold listens. When having conversations Michael insist that patients question their own actions. This is helpful because this tactic helps me look harder at myself and my problems. I'm usually left feeling silly at the moment. But after Michael interjects his realistic real-world insight his approach produces a self help mentality in me.

What I appreciate about Michael is his ability to challenge you and push you to actually do and not just theorize. He didn't coddle me and told me what I needed to hear. I don't think there are enough people like that anymore. I went from pretty depressed to really happy in a few months and he really helped me to change my mindset. I greatly enjoyed counseling with him and if I return I will do it with him.

I can’t really express how thankful I am for Michael. I had never had therapy before and he made me feel comfortable right away. We worked on coping mechanisms and getting to the root of my anxiety. In a relatively short period of time I am in a better place than I have been in months.

Michael has been a wonderful help to me and my personal issues. He's very understanding but extremely knowledgable about therapy and tries to find the best method to work with you. Excellent for first-time experiences and really tries to focus on you and what you as an individual need in order to get better.

Michael is a great professional. Very patient, understanding and wise. He is the person I can share a lot of my personal feelings and experiences with. When we just started therapy, I had problems with procrastination, that as it turned out, were connected to low self esteem and wrong mindset. In almost two months we did a great progress that changed a lot in the way I look at things and now I'm much happier than before, enjoy my work and successfully make my own creative projects. Next time I will need therapy I will do it with Michael again.
