Hello! If you are exploring Better Help, it is likely that you are struggling with something significant in your life. Finding the right person to help you through these challenges is very important. If you don't have a good relationship with your counselor, you won't make the progress you are hoping to achieve. I want to provide you with some information about me in order to help you decide if my experience and style is the right match for you.
I have been a social worker for more than 20 years and have experience working with people from all different backgrounds who are struggling with a wide variety of challenges. My experience began in the Family Services arena working with challenges related to Abuse and Neglect and Foster Care and Adoption. I then transitioned into Crisis Social Work in an Inpatient Hospital Setting serving those with Serious Mental Illness and their Families. A significant part of my career has been spent with the Active Duty Military and Veteran populations. I specialized as a Trauma Therapist and have been working with people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, LGBTQ+ issues, adoption and foster care challenges and challenges of Caregiving. The feedback I receive from clients and co-workers is that they find me to be caring and nonjudgmental, and they appreciate that I am honest and direct with them. You can expect me to walk with you through whatever difficulties you are facing and help you learn more about yourself and the way you interact with the world.
I can interact with you in whatever manner you are most comfortable. I find it helpful to participate in video sessions so that we can get to know each other better. I am also available to you via phone and text if that is more comfortable for you. I am available to various time zones with morning appointments, evening availability as well as weekend availability. I check messages several times during the day and will get back with you.
I know how hard it can be to find a counselor with whom you feel a connection. I would be honored to work with you through this stage of your life.

I worked with Dolores for a year and a half, when counselors could work across state lines. Dolores was caring, resourceful, and a great listener. She also told me what I needed to hear, not just what I wanted to hear. She was also very flexible and responded to my messages if I sent one during the week. I highly recommend Dolores.

I worked with Dolores for a little over a year and she’s truly an amazing therapist. Very candid and down to earth, I always felt much more grounded after our sessions. She’s great at listening and relating in her own way to your situation. Who I was a year ago and who I am now feels like two different people. I’m on solid ground now and am so grateful for the insight and support I received from Dolores.

Despite being in the healthcare field, I was terrified to take the step of initiating counseling. There were many things that had held me back from getting the help I needed for far too long. I was paired up with Dolores and quickly found there was nothing to fear. We started out chatting on the computer for our sessions. Soon it progressed to telephone calls and before I knew it we were video chatting. She challenged me and held me accountable, but never made me feel pressured or embarrassed over anything that I brought to the session. It simply was what it was and we would pick at it, decipher it, and work on it together. There were many tears but also many victories and laughs. It brought great comfort knowing I wasn't alone, no answer was a wrong answer, and I had someone to help me process things. Over time I began to grow in ways I never imagined. I am stronger and healthier than I have ever been, and I feel as though I can take on whatever may be thrown my way. I can also stand firm on the knowledge that she is there to help if it becomes too much or I simply can't see my way through it. Dolores has been a game changer for me. I cannot say enough about Better Help but more so about Dolores. I will be forever thankful I faced my fears and I took the leap of faith.

Dolores has helped me so much, even at the very first session! She provides feedback and insight that helps me understand why I have certain issues and provides solutions on how to address and overcome them. I believe her experience is a huge benefit. Dolores is an outstanding therapist. It truly amazes me during each session how much she prioritizes me. She knows exactly when to talk and when to listen. She has so much knowledge about every topic I have brought up. I cannot put into words how good I feel after each session. She challenges me enough, but also leaves my feeling positive. I would recommend her to anyone seeking help.

I think we all need someone at times to talk to. Between the Covid Pandemic, knowing that I wanted to be less defensive in my life, and a health scare Dolores helped me tremendously. I know I love my husband and want to stay connected with him, and Delores gave me many suggestions to help that improve as well. I highly recommend her.
