Hello and welcome to BetterHelp! I am a Licensed Master's Level graduate of Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM). I have worked with individuals (adolescents and adults), couples, and families in several different non-clinical and clinical settings including residential and intensive outpatient in both non-profit and private facilities.
My specialties include treating individuals with communication issues, intimacy-related issues, depression, stress and anxiety, low self-esteem, ADD/ADHD, family conflict, relationship issues, death of a loved one, substance use/abuse. As your therapist, we go through your journey together to decrease and/or eliminate distress of your mind and within your relationships through "talk therapy". My approach to your treatment depends on your goals for therapy and the issue(s) that you present. At times, we delve in your family background and how you were raised as a child and into your past relationships as I have found that what's going on presently is a direct result of unresolved issues from the past. At other times, there is just a need to find a solution and/or come to a resolution of an issue.
I utilize a few treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT).
I look forward to working with you and helping you achieve your goals!

I’ve been meeting with Cassandra over the course of a year - first as a couples counselor, then as an individual client as she helped me deal with the aftermath of a breakup. She has been so great and has been integral in a lot of my growth during a crazy year, has been so flexible with the timing of sessions, and has been a great advisor and ear. I loved our sessions and always enjoyed how we could find ways to laugh during them, which I appreciated even while I was facing intense difficulties, anxiety, and confusing moments. Loved talking to her, she has been such a wonderful therapist!

Cassandra has been an amazing therapist for me. She listens to what I have to say and is unbiased. I really felt that she cared about what I had to say and helped me resolve my issues around some heavy stuff that I didn't realize that I was holding onto for such a long time. I feel relieved knowing that she was there to listen and not judge me, while she also got me to take a closer look at myself to see what I was truly struggling with that I wasn't quite aware of. Cassandra talks to you like a friend and makes you know she cares and is listening.

Cassandra is AMAZING!! Yaw, she got the tears flowing 3 times in our 1st session lol. I really appreciate her approach and her ability to dig out the deep stuff. I also appreciate how she talks through things with me and makes sense. Although I only had 4 sessions with her, I definitely feel like she was able to help start the healing process and I learned a lot from her. If you are looking for a therapist, choose Cassandra =)

A few months ago I had a nervous breakdown, stress and work got on top of me and I couldn’t even leave the house. Since then, I’ve made some massive changes in my Life and Cassandra has helped me through each one.
Her style is great, very supportive but not overbearing. Cassandra has helped me to build my confidence and have some truly amazing realisations about my childhood, my present and my future.
I don’t think I would be as happy and able to do things now, if I hadn’t of taken her support those months ago. Thank you <3

My time with Cassandra has been LIFE-CHANGING. I’ve gone through probably a dozen counselors before BetterHelp paired me with her. Before her, I was discouraged and felt unfixable. I never knew that anyone could understand what I’m going through, but she has been absolutely amazing. I tend to have a concrete wall up around pretty much everyone, but Cassandra has been able to chip away at my layers and really understand me from the core. We get to the root of things to understand why I think certain ways or do certain things. I don’t know how I functioned without her! On top of that, religion is typically a taboo thing to discuss with my friends because I’m friends with people from a variety of religious backgrounds, but I’m able to freely discuss my Christian views with Cassandra, and she’s able to support me spiritually as well. Can’t recommend her enough!

Cassandra is very attentive and patient. I was able to talk about my problems and never had a fear of being judged. It was super helpful to have a fresh perspective on what was going on in my mind. It was easy to talk to her and I always felt supported.

Cassandra is great. I have had trouble with my aggressive behavior and dealing with my anger appropriately. Cassandra has helped me understand my aggressive actions in their context, and led me to realize how inappropriate they really were ( which was causing me some confusion before). She has given me useful concepts to help me learn about and manage my own anger responses and set me on a path towards relying less on aggressive behavior.
In our sessions she comes off as really genuine and empathetic. I feel very comfortable discussing my issues with her. She also has a really awesome accent. I would strongly recommend her to anyone concerned about how their aggression could be affecting their relationships.
