About me
I am a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LiMHP) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Nebraska. In addition, I am a Nationally Certified Counselor. For the past twelve years, I have had the opportunity of working with a diverse population of clients who have come from many different walks of life. I have worked with individuals, groups and couples and most recently, emerging adults, as they address their concerns with depression, anxiety, addictions, abuse and trauma and relationship issues. In addition to to providing mental health services, I have nine years of experience as an Associate Professor of Psychology. I taught Counseling Psychology, Abnormal Psychology , Theories of Personality, and Lifespan Development, just to name a few.
It is very important for me to get to know my client on a holistic level within a safe environment that allows us to work together as issues surface and goals are identified. I count it an honor and privilege when someone has reached a level of comfort with me that allows them to enter difficult and often uncomfortable discussions, trusting me that I can help them to find the freedom from the fears, thoughts and hurts that have been negatively affecting their lives. I am a solution focused counselor who is client centered, and uses various evidenced based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to assist in the process of change.
I look forward to the opportunity of working with you and joining you on the process of self-discovery, healing and growth.
