With more than 20 years in the field, and 16 of those in direct counseling work I have come to the conclusion that everyone struggles a bit from time to time. I have worked with numerous families, moving through the trials and tribulations of childhood, adolescence and young adulthood. Parenting isn't easy, and things have become even more complicated with blended family situations and technological advances. Kids have access to more information and parents have more things to worry about. Life is very fast paced and staying connected to our families, friends and loved ones can be a challenge. I've worked with kids, adults, couples and families from all backgrounds and environments, working with them as they find their way through the challenges of making ends meet, keeping the faith, believing in something greater, and adjusting to change, loss, and frustrations of life.
As a Military Spouse, step-parent, and a biological parent at Advanced Maternal Age, I can truly relate to the many toils of parenting and relationships. Though no one issue is the same, my personal and professional background gives me a unique perspective not often found in many helping professionals.
It takes bravery and humility to reach out for help, and few of us are capable of recognizing that we just don't need to do it alone. My role as a therapist is to help people find their way. I can guide you through the process and provide support as we figure out together what needs to be done to reach your goals. Sometimes, all we need is direction. Other times we need a little more than that, and I'm here to help you figure it out.
Additional areas of focus:Grief, Anger management, Self esteem, Career difficulties, Depression, Coping with life changes, Compassion fatigue, Blended Family Issues, Codependency, Communication Problems, Control Issues, Divorce and Separation, Domestic Violence, Family of Origin Issues, Family Problems, First Responder Issues, Forgiveness, Guilt and Shame, Infidelity, Life Purpose, Military and Veterans Issues, Narcissism, Panic Disorder and Panic Attacks, Personality Disorders, Post-traumatic Stress, Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), Self-Love, Sexual Assault and Abuse, Social Anxiety and Phobia, Women's Issues, Workplace Issues

Amy is a fantastic listener, she applies her life experiences to help supplement her ideas and make the content more relatable. She was a pleasant surprise on this app and she has helped me through some of the worst family drama I’ve ever experienced. Very grateful for Amy

Amy is great. I haven’t had a video call with her yet, but just messaging back and forth with her has been very helpful. It’s a nice alternative to scheduled video calls because it allows me to message back at my leisure and form thoughtful dialogue. I highly recommend Amy!!

I have been working with Amy for about two and a half years now and I cannot express how much she has helped me. I have never felt so safe, secure, and respected by a therapist as much as I have with Amy! I truly cannot imagine where I would be without her, and am forever grateful for her and all she has taught me/helped me. I truly thank you and admire you Amy!!! - Sophia B.

Amy is very friendly and knowledgeable! I feel very comfortable talking with her, although she puts no pressure on me to talk about issues before I am ready. She offers many options for treatment and provides information and time before committing to any specific path. She is also very transparent about why certain things may be happening in your brain and goes about explaining them very clearly.

Amy is absolutely AMAZING! She takes time to listen to you and asks you questions in order to help sort things out. She offers well put together advice that feels very comforting, but also through and to the point - not generic advice at all. She helps you find different ways to approach things that may be stressing you and help you find a way through it. Amy is warm, friendly and funny... I felt very comfortable talking to her right away. I highly recommend Amy to anyone who needs some great advice and someone who will truly listen to you and wants to help. Thank you, Amy!

Amy has been very nice and filled with information. I’m a learner, in the sense that if I don’t know about something it scares me and she caught on to that quickly and taught me in depth about a lot of the issues I’ve been having.

I appreciate the time and effort she has taken. I would have rated her higher, but we are still very new to the patient-doctor relationship. I feel that she has been very helpful so far, and I hope to continue a while with her as my counselor.
